Ryuko: A Japanese Home Cafe Where You Can Simply Be

“A place where you can simply be” is Ryuko in a nutshell. In the middle of our bustle, a Japanese-styled home with coffee scent provides the tranquility some of us really need. We may discover it in Ryuko, Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta. Designed in a modern Japanese style, Ryuko aims to be a place where people can gather with their loved ones comfortably as if they’re at home safe and sound.

As the focal point of this cafe, we constructed a timber roof frame that is well-complemented with tatami seatings. We created a shoji for the wall treatment that straightforwardly delivers the Japanese design ambiance as well. This very space will make you feel like you’re in a Japanese terrace or living room. From the floor to the ceiling, we particularly imprinted Japanese notions and fractions.

Topped off with a traditional blue-painted Japanese curtain known as a noren, it enhances Ryuko’s brand identity. A combination of white and light brown color of the interior enables us to highlight the blue of Ryuko. And the use of natural materials — such as wood, marble, and pebbles — is thoughtfully tailored to complete the look.

As for the decoration, Ryuko effortlessly elevates the Japanese atmosphere by showcasing Uchii Store’s Japanese kitchenware and homeware merchandise, their affiliated brand. A wide range of options is displayed beside the bar where you can also find your preferred coffee beans.

With a window and wooden roof structure, you will feel like you’re sipping your favorite coffee on your home terrace which is perfected by a bonsai tree. If you would like to enjoy their delicious onigiri of the day in the “living room,” you may also sit in the tatami area. Come to Ryuko and have a firsthand experience at this Japanese home cafe.
